It’s never too late
“Why It’s Never Too Late to Start Moving”
By Julie Williamson
If you had told me at 36 that I’d still be teaching fitness classes at 65, I probably would have laughed. Back then, I wasn’t a lifelong athlete or a gym regular. In fact, my journey into health and fitness began because of personal health challenges — the kind that made me stop and think: Something has to change.
That decision to start moving changed everything. Not overnight, but step by step. It gave me strength I didn’t know I had, more energy to enjoy life, and a deep confidence that spilled into every other area of my world.
For nearly three decades now, I’ve had the privilege of leading women’s bootcamps and beginner-friendly classes, especially for women over 50. I’ve seen firsthand that it’s never too late to:
Build strength you can feel in your daily life.
Protect your joints, bones, and heart health.
Discover the joy of movement in a way that feels good for your body.
I started “Front Porch Fitness” to create a welcoming, down-to-earth space where women could show up exactly as they are — no intimidation, no judgment, just encouragement and fun.
So if you’re standing on the edge of starting something new, wondering if it’s too late or too hard, I’m here to tell you: you can do this. And I’d love to help you get started.
Let’s move together — one step, one squat, one smile at a time.
